When you are expecting people have all types of ideas of the perfect name for your baby. You have to choose the perfect name for you. This is the name that you and your baby is going to have to live with for the rest of you life. Here are some ways people choose these perfect names. Honoring the ancestors by using family names is a time honored tradition. Many times these names are used as first or middle names. Often a first name will be chosen from one ancestor and the middle name from another. If grandparents are not an option people also name their children after other people who have made a positive influence in their life. Often times a baby’s name becomes a way for their parents to honor for an adult. Another way to pick the perfect baby name is to go through a baby book. These names books have tons of names to mix and match. The goal is to come up with something that you and your baby can live with. The only downfall to these books is the odd of the names being original are impossible. The names are in the book because someone else has them; however you can find names that are far from common. If you use these baby names they are vey close to being original. It is not unusual for children to be named after parents. This is when you have Jr. and Sr. or the Ist, 2nd, and 3rd. This means that the name has been handed down through the families’ generations. This is especially popular with boys. It is almost given that the first born boy carries some part of is father’s or grandfathers name. The most extreme form of the perfect name is giving the baby the name of their favorite celebrity. Some may hear or see a name in public or on TV and decide to use that name for their baby. If you are going to do this it is important to get the spelling correct or you will be naming your baby the wrong name and people will go through life calling the baby by the wrong name. The bottom line for any parent is having confidence that the name you choose for your child is automatically the perfect name. Other people’s suggestions may be interesting but the final decision must be the parents. There are a few things I want to consider when choosing the name for your baby. They will have to learn to spell it and write it in Kindergarten. And most importantly people will need to be able to get a grasp of the baby name in order to call it correctly.
